Rockstar has confirmed a date, a price, two protagonists and a setting. Here are the ten questions it still has not answered, from the PC version and GTA Online 2 to map size, region-locked codes and when GTA 6 actually unlocks in the Gulf.

Rockstar has confirmed a date, a price, two protagonists and a setting. Beyond that, the list of things it has said nothing about is longer than the list of things it has. With Grand Theft Auto VI due on 19 November 2026 and the Extended Look landing on 27 August, here are the ten questions that still have no official answer, and why each one matters.

One rule before we start. Everything below is unconfirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two. Leaks, datamines and trailer frame-counting are not announcements, and we flag where a number comes from a source that is not Rockstar.

1. Is there a PC version at all?

Rockstar has never announced one. The 19 November date covers PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S, and nothing else.

History says a port comes eventually. GTA V reached PC roughly eighteen months after console, Red Dead Redemption 2 about thirteen. Late 2027 into 2028 is the reasonable expectation, and it is an expectation, not a plan anyone has published.

There is a commercial reason to be patient about it. Financial records that surfaced after a Rockstar breach suggested GTA Online earns dramatically more on console than PC, with PlayStation 5 far ahead and PC a small fraction of the total. If that is even directionally right, PC is not where the money is, and console exclusivity for a year costs Rockstar very little.

2. What is GTA Online 2, and does it exist at launch?

This is the biggest gap on the list.

Rockstar has not confirmed a format, a business model, a launch date, or whether an online component ships with the game at all. GTA Online arrived two weeks after GTA V in 2013. Nothing indicates a repeat, and nothing rules it out.

Given GTA Online generated revenue for more than a decade, a game shipping without its successor mode explained is genuinely unusual. Take-Two has spent the past month steering every conversation towards single-player, which is either good discipline or a tell.

3. How big is the map?

We know it is the state of Leonida with Vice City at its centre. We do not know how large it is.

Every square-mile figure circulating online traces back to the 2022 leak, a fan mapping project, or somebody measuring the horizon in a trailer frame. Rockstar has published no number and no map. Treat every comparison to GTA V’s size as fan work until that changes.

4. Have we actually seen gameplay?

No, and this is the one the Extended Look may finally settle.

What exists is in-engine footage. Sony confirmed the second trailer was captured on a PlayStation 5, split roughly between cutscenes and moments you will play through. But there has been no HUD, no menus, no mission structure, no systems, and no unbroken stretch of someone holding a controller.

Four months from a launch that Take-Two has tied its entire financial year to, that is a striking absence.

5. How many players fit in an online session?

Court documents connected to the 2022 leak case pointed at 32. That number has been repeated widely and confirmed by nobody.

It matters more than it sounds. Session size shapes what kind of online game this is, and 32 would be a meaningful step up from GTA Online’s 30.

6. Is there crossplay?

Unconfirmed, and history is not encouraging. GTA Online ran for thirteen years without cross-platform play of any kind.

Console-to-console crossplay is technically straightforward in 2026 and would be a genuine change of posture. PC-to-console is the least likely of all, given the anti-cheat and input-fairness problems Rockstar has consistently declined to take on.

7. Can standard-edition buyers ever get the Ultimate content?

The $99.99 Ultimate Edition carries vehicles, weapons, apparel and at least one in-game location that the $79.99 standard edition does not.

Rockstar has not said whether that content becomes purchasable separately later, whether an upgrade path exists, or whether buying standard means losing access permanently. For a twenty-dollar decision people are making right now, that silence is doing real work.

8. What exactly is in the box, and where?

The physical edition contains a download code rather than a disc. That is confirmed and it has already caused problems.

Reports out of Japan described pre-order codes carrying regional restrictions, which matters enormously in a region like ours where imported physical copies are common and often cheaper. Rockstar has published no global policy on how those codes behave across regions.

If you are considering an imported box rather than a digital purchase, this is the single unanswered question most likely to cost you money.

9. When does it actually unlock here?

Rockstar has not announced global unlock timings.

This is the question nobody outside a handful of time zones bothers to ask, and the one that matters most to readers in the Gulf. A simultaneous worldwide unlock keyed to a North American evening would put GTA VI live in the UAE somewhere in the early hours. A midnight-local unlock would put us among the first to play it. The difference between those two scenarios is an entire day, and Rockstar has said nothing.

10. Is Trailer 3 still coming?

The Extended Look arrived where a third trailer was widely expected. Rockstar has not said whether it replaces Trailer 3 or precedes it.

If a conventional trailer still lands in September or October, the marketing plan is normal and the Netflix showcase was an experiment layered on top. If the Extended Look is the whole campaign, Rockstar has genuinely changed how it launches games. We will know within about six weeks.

What Rockstar has actually confirmed

For balance, the confirmed list is short but solid: 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. Jason and Lucia as dual protagonists. Vice City and the state of Leonida. $79.99 standard and $99.99 Ultimate. Physical copies containing a code. Around sixty screenshots, cover art, and two trailers. The Extended Look on 27 August, Netflix first and free everywhere six hours later.

That is a lot for most games and remarkably little for this one, four months out.

What to watch on 27 August

Of the ten above, the Extended Look could plausibly answer three: whether real gameplay exists, whether the map gets a scale, and whether online is acknowledged at all. Our money is on gameplay yes, map no, online not a word.

Full timings including Gulf conversions are in our GTA 6 Extended Look guide, and the argument about its Netflix exclusivity is here. Everything confirmed so far lives on our Grand Theft Auto VI hub, and current pricing on both editions is tracked on the Deals page. We will update this list every time Rockstar closes one of these gaps.
