Control Resonant’s Story Recap Is a Video, Not an In-Game Feature
The recap revisits Jesse’s story before Dylan’s adventure. We clarify where to watch it, spoiler considerations and the confirmed release details.

In this article
A new Control story recap is available to watch ahead of Control Resonant. The important distinction is its format: GamingBolt’s report points to a recap video covering Jesse Faden’s earlier story. It does not establish a new recap system inside the sequel. Ralify’s earlier version incorrectly described the video as a built-in feature; that claim has been removed.
Where the recap fits
The video linked in the report offers returning players a way to revisit the previous story before following Dylan. Readers can access it separately from the game. We have not independently reviewed the video scene by scene, so this article does not promise that it includes every expansion, character appearance or unresolved plot thread.
Our practical recommendation is to decide how much of the original story you want revealed before pressing play. A recap is designed to compress earlier events, and compression can remove the surprise of discovering them through play. If you plan to experience the first game for the first time, a spoiler-light setting introduction may be a better starting point than a plot summary.
What Remedy has confirmed about the sequel
Remedy’s release announcement places Dylan in a distorted Manhattan, with Jesse missing. The announced launch is 24 September on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC; Mac follows later in 2026. Those details come from the developer’s announcement, not from an assumption that a recap signals the game is already available.
The distinction matters for launch preparation. A story refresher, a platform release and an installed gameplay feature are three different things. Watching the first does not confirm either of the others. Check the listing for your own platform before planning a download, and do not use a trailer’s publication date as the release date of the product it promotes.
Story context is not a gameplay requirement
This report does not establish that watching the recap is mandatory, that progress in the first game is required, or that a save file must be imported. None of those requirements should be inferred from a video designed to provide background. Equally, a summary cannot substitute for a tutorial about the sequel’s controls or combat systems.
For a spoiler-conscious approach, keep story preparation and gameplay preparation separate: choose whether to revisit earlier events, then consult the launch guide for platform information and the beginner guide for documented systems. We will label review findings and hands-on observations separately from developer announcements rather than presenting all three as the same kind of evidence.
Correction, 14 September 2026: the previous article called this an in-game recap feature and attributed an unsupported requirement to the developers. The source supports an external recap video, not those claims.
