Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 Showcase: Kojima’s New Games, Call of Duty 4, and 15+ Announcements

Microsoft wrapped its Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast with a slate of game reveals and updates, headlined by Hideo Kojima’s first public appearance discussing two new Xbox exclusives and a major casting announcement.

Kojima, the legendary Metal Gear Solid creator, confirmed that both OD and Physint are now Xbox games through a partnership with Kojima Productions and new Xbox boss Asha Sharma. OD – KNOCK is in production “on schedule,” while Physint, which Kojima called “the culmination of more than 40 years of my career,” is making “steady progress.” Bill Skarsgård will play the lead role in Physint, with additional casting to be announced.

Major Reveals and Trailers

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 got its campaign trailer, set partly in Korea and positioning Captain Price as a central target. Actor Mads Mikkelsen’s involvement in the game was confirmed. Sega’s Crazy Taxi: World Tour, launching in 2027, will feature Japan as a playable location, described as “historically suspended between two worlds.”

ArtPlay’s Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement showed new 2.5D metroidvania gameplay set in 16th-century England, with protagonists Leo and Alex, due in 2027. Atlus unveiled a new trailer for Persona 4 Revival, coming next year to Game Pass. Indie standout Raji: Kaliyuga, from Indian studio Nodding Heads Games, premiered gameplay showing dual protagonists with distinct combat styles—acrobatic martial arts and gravity-manipulating Siddhi powers—launching on Xbox Series X/S and PC with Game Pass support.

Other announcements included Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember (March 4, 2027, Game Pass), Hope in the City (November 10, 2026, Game Pass), Once Human: Isles of Abyss expansion (October 22, free-to-play), Bloomwalker joining the Ni no Kuni universe, Faraday Blues (2027 visual novel premiere), Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom (February, with returning characters), and survival action RPG Gachiakuta: Breakout (2027, based on the anime). Shape of Dreams, a co-op roguelite, launched the same day alongside its anniversary update.

Neither Kojima’s OD nor Physint have announced release dates yet.
