How to finish the Till Death quest in Valor Mortis

The Till Death side quest in Valor Mortis is a multi-step objective that tasks players with retrieving a specific item to honor The Bride. According to a guide from GamesRadar+, the quest unlocks after you defeat the boss known as The Bride in the Cursed Hollow chapter. To begin, interact with the wreath located on the altar within her boss arena.

Prerequisites

To finish this quest, you must have completed the boss fight against The Bride and accessed the Cursed Hollow church area where the game’s final melee weapon, the Claymore, is located.

Steps to Complete Till Death

  • Retrieve the Red Ribbon: Once you reach the church and obtain the Claymore, exit through the door on the opposite side of the building. Follow the exterior path until you reach a fork, then turn right to find a dead end containing a blue memory. Locate the Red Ribbon sitting in front of a grave in this area.
  • Return to the Altar: Travel back to the Village Church lantern. From there, move forward and take the second left to return to the wreath at the altar.
  • Place the Ribbon: Interact with the wreath to place the Red Ribbon. This awards you the Tomorrow’s Promise Amber, which upgrades the Tomorrow’s Promise item if you already possess it.
  • Finalize the Quest: After placing the ribbon, return to the lantern to rest. Head back to the wreath one last time and interact with it again; you will find that the wreath has bloomed, officially marking the quest as complete.

Why it matters

Completing this quest grants the Tomorrow’s Promise Amber, which modifies your Ferrofluid Flask. Once equipped, the Flask will regenerate health over time rather than providing an instant heal. This is a significant gameplay trade-off that forces a slower, more deliberate approach to health management. Players should carefully consider if this gradual restoration fits their combat style before committing to the upgrade.

While this side quest provides a unique item, it also serves as a narrative expansion following the boss encounter with The Bride. As reported by GamesRadar+, the quest concludes only after you rest and return to the blooming wreath, signaling that the story arc for this specific encounter is finished.
