A new report suggests that Bloober Team’s upcoming remake of the original Silent Hill is currently aiming for a 2027 release. According to reporting from Video Games Chronicle, citing details from MP1st, the project—which is internally codenamed Project Noise—is scheduled for that window, provided there are no changes or delays to Konami’s production timeline.
First casting details emerge
Beyond the potential release window, the report identifies the first two actors attached to the project: Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew. Fritz, a UK-based actor with experience in motion capture and previous voice work in titles such as Battlefield 2042 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, is joined by Matthew, whose credits include appearances in Doctors and Eastenders. It is currently unknown which specific characters these actors are portraying, and Konami has yet to confirm who will play the lead protagonist, Harry Mason.
A consistent release cadence
Konami has been pushing to maintain a consistent output for the Silent Hill series, with series producer Motoi Okamoto previously stating an aim to release a new title every year. Following the release of the Silent Hill 2 remake, which Konami reported reached 5 million copies sold by January 2026, the publisher confirmed that Bloober Team had begun work on a remake of the original entry in the franchise. With the 2027 calendar currently lacking a confirmed title, this project appears to be the primary candidate for that year’s release.
Why it matters
For fans of the series, this report offers a first look at the development progress for the next major installment of the Silent Hill franchise. Following the critical success of Bloober Team’s work on the Silent Hill 2 remake, which VGC noted in their review as a “skilfully handled retelling” that managed to respect the original while modernizing the experience, there is significant interest in how the studio will approach the first game.
Players should keep an eye out for further official confirmation regarding the 2027 window and character casting. As Konami continues its strategy of frequent franchise releases, this remake is likely to be a central focus for the company’s survival horror lineup.
