Blizzard is potentially looking to shake up the World of Warcraft: Forever experience. Recent reports from players indicate that the studio has distributed an opt-in survey via the Battle.net launcher, gauging interest in a variety of new class options for the game. While Blizzard asked participants to keep the details confidential, screenshots and community reports have begun circulating online, sparking significant discussion among the player base.

Potential new additions

According to user reports from the Classic WoW Reddit, the survey explored both brand-new class concepts and reimagined versions of existing classes found in modern World of Warcraft. Among the rumored new concepts is the Tinker—a class with deep roots in the original Warcraft RTS games—which would reportedly utilize a mech suit mechanic. Similar to D.Va from Overwatch, the Tinker would feature a dual-life system, allowing players to fight from within the mech or on foot. Another notable concept mentioned is the San’layn, described as plate-armored vampiric knights capable of draining vitality from enemies.

Adapting modern classes

The survey also teased “refreshed” versions of familiar classes such as Death Knights, Demon Hunters, and Monks. If implemented, these would be adjusted to fit the mechanical pace of World of Warcraft: Forever. The leaked information suggests that the Demon Hunter, for instance, would be significantly less mobile than its modern Legion counterpart and would be tied to a different faction lore-wise, rather than Illidan’s specific group. Other potential classes listed in the survey include the Runemaster, Runeknight, and Metalborn.

Why it matters

For players, these survey results suggest that Blizzard is considering ways to expand the World of Warcraft: Forever setting beyond simply re-releasing legacy expansions like The Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King. Adding entirely new classes could drastically change the meta and provide fresh reasons for veterans and newcomers alike to engage with the classic ruleset.

However, it is important to note that this survey does not guarantee any of these classes will actually be developed or added to the game. It currently serves as a pulse-check for player sentiment. For those in the GCC and wider Middle East, any future updates regarding server infrastructure or official localization support for these potential additions will be key to watch as the game continues to evolve. Players should keep an eye on official channels for any concrete announcements, as these details remain speculative for now.
