The hype surrounding S-Game’s upcoming hack-and-slash action RPG, Phantom Blade Zero, appears to be translating into significant pre-launch momentum. According to a report by GamingBolt, which cites insights from Alinea Analytics’ Rhys Elliott, the title has allegedly already moved 500,000 units on Steam, generating an estimated $24 million in revenue before its October 29th launch date.

Pre-launch performance and expectations

While developer S-Game has not released official sales figures, the studio’s director, Qiwei “Soulframe” Liang, has publicly acknowledged that initial pre-order numbers have “far exceeded” the team’s expectations during the first week of availability. The interest is further underscored by the game’s massive presence on storefront wishlists. While the project surpassed three million total wishlists in mid-September, current estimates from Elliott place the Steam-specific figure at 2.5 million as of October 20th, suggesting the final count across platforms could be even higher.

Beyond the PC metrics, reports suggest that “pre-launch signals” for the PlayStation 5 version of the title are also tracking positively. Elliott noted that the game is positioned to potentially become a breakout success among single-player releases heading into 2026.

Why it matters

For players, this surge in pre-launch interest highlights Phantom Blade Zero as one of the most anticipated action titles of the season. With the game set to release on October 29th, the strong early numbers suggest a robust player base will be active on day one, which is an important factor for both the community size and long-term support for single-player experiences.

Looking ahead, players interested in physical media have a long wait, as S-Game has confirmed that physical versions, including an Ultimate Edition featuring a collectible steel case, are currently slated for release in 2027. In the immediate future, those waiting for the game can look forward to new content teased in the recent launch trailer, which showcases additional weapons and boss encounters for the protagonist, Soul.
