If you are the type of gamer who loves having a physical map on your desk while you play, you might have to put in a little bit of extra work for GTA 6. According to reporting from Beebom, Rockstar has clarified how fans can get their hands on the Leonida map and the official cover art poster.

Digital access vs. physical collectibles

Starting November 19, 2026, Rockstar will provide free digital downloads of the GTA 6 map and cover art via its official website. This allows players to print their own high-quality versions at home. For those who prefer a professional physical copy, a double-sided poster featuring the map and cover art will be sold on the Rockstar Store shortly after the game’s launch for $0.99. Alternatively, players can snag this physical poster for free by adding it to any purchase made through the Rockstar Store once it becomes available.

Uncertainty regarding physical editions

While the digital files and the $0.99 add-on are confirmed, it remains unclear if physical copies of the game will ship with a map included. As noted by Beebom, while previous entries in the series included these posters in the box, Rockstar has not yet confirmed if the current release follows that tradition. The shift away from physical media is further highlighted by the reported 212 GB file size, which makes the inclusion of a physical map even more coveted by collectors.

Why it matters

For players, this decision means that those who prefer physical souvenirs will need to either pay a small fee or ensure they make a separate purchase through the Rockstar Store to secure the poster. It is a departure from the days when such maps were standard inclusions in the retail game box, potentially signaling a move toward leaner physical releases.

As you prep for your return to Leonida, keep in mind that preloads are scheduled to begin on November 10, 2026. Whether you choose to download and print the map yourself or order the official poster, you will have options for your setup well in advance of hitting the streets.
