Sony has unveiled two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI, revealed during a State of Play presentation. The controllers capture Vice City’s aesthetic and will launch alongside the game on November 19, priced at $84.99 USD.

What Sony’s Showing Off

The two new controllers—a Black Limited Edition and a White Limited Edition—each channel a different side of Vice City. The white model embodies the city at daybreak, drawing inspiration from white sands and pastel skies, while the black edition captures the energy of Vice City’s nightlife.

Both controllers feature a shimmering, color-shifting finish that blends sunset hues with neon light effects. Custom palm tree details are molded directly into each controller’s grip, adding a tactile element alongside official Grand Theft Auto VI branding.

The White Limited Edition will be available in limited quantities globally through direct.playstation.com and participating retailers. The Black Limited Edition will launch in limited quantities exclusively through direct.playstation.com where available, with select retailers handling distribution in other regions.

Pre-orders begin September 10 at 10:00am local time, with both controllers launching on November 19 at the same recommended retail price: $84.99 USD, €84.99, £74.99, or ¥12,480 (including tax). Players ordering directly from PlayStation will receive free launch day delivery for eligible pre-orders.

Why This Matters

Limited-edition controllers tied to major game launches have become a standard way for PlayStation to drive hardware interest alongside blockbuster releases. Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the most anticipated games in years, and custom DualSense controllers give players a way to show their investment in the title beyond the game itself.

More importantly, these controllers will actually leverage the DualSense’s signature features while playing GTA VI. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers will respond dynamically to in-game action, delivering resistance and sensation that ties the controller to Jason and Lucia’s story. For PS5 players, this means the hardware isn’t just cosmetic—it’s designed to deepen how the game feels in your hands.

Vice City’s visual identity—pastel skies, neon nights, palm trees—translates well to controller design, and the color-shifting finishes suggest these won’t look like standard controllers sitting on a shelf. The limited quantities also mean collectors and dedicated GTA fans will likely move quickly when pre-orders go live.

What’s Next

With pre-orders opening September 10 and a November 19 launch window, the real test will be availability. Limited quantities historically sell out fast on direct.playstation.com, so players interested in either design should be ready when the window opens. Both controllers are worth watching to see which variant proves more popular among the community.
