Rockstar Games is blurring the lines between virtual and reality as part of an elaborate marketing campaign for GTA 6. According to reporting from Beebom, the studio has entered into a $650,000 agreement with the owner of the W South Beach Hotel, located at 2201 Collins Avenue, through the marketing agency Amplify Marketing Inc. The goal is to transform the physical W South Beach Hotel into the fictional Y Hotel from GTA 6.
The Details of the Transformation
Documents from the City of Miami Beach confirm that the massive promotional campaign is scheduled to run from October 15 through December 31, 2026. This substantial investment includes a $300,000 allocation for facade signage, $150,000 to install an oversized, stylized Y logo that replaces the hotel’s signature W emblem on the spa terrace, and $200,000 dedicated to beachfront marketing activations. These physical changes will be supplemented by branded items throughout the hotel, including ice buckets, cocktail napkins, coasters, bottle openers, koozies, and plastic cups, all supplied through the hotel’s food-and-beverage provider, Think Hospitality, in coordination with the beach operator, Boucher Brothers.
Beyond the hotel, Rockstar is extending the Vice City theme to the local scenery. Starting October 26, the team will begin work at Lummus Park to install a massive pink Vice Beach sign, which is set to be unveiled on November 1 at 1130 Ocean Drive. This sign is inspired by the GTA 6 Kaseya Center sign. Additionally, the outdoor workout equipment at Muscle Beach will be painted pink and decked out with Vice Beach branding. This follows recent promotional efforts inside Miami’s Kaseya Center, which featured GTA 6-themed Cluckin’ Bell and Burger Shot food stands. Some fans also speculate that Rockstar is filming a live-action GTA 6 trailer in Miami using in-game vehicles.
Why it matters
For fans, this takeover serves as an immersive build-up to the highly anticipated November 19 launch of GTA 6. Whether you are a local or a tourist in Miami, these installations offer a tangible way to engage with the game’s aesthetic before it hits digital and physical shelves. The extended duration of the campaign, which stays active until the end of the year, ensures that the Vice City atmosphere will remain present for six weeks after the game launches, continuing through the holiday season. While these specific activations are localized to Miami Beach, they highlight the scale of the promotional push Rockstar is coordinating to generate real-world hype for the next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
