A fresh wave of PC titles has hit the digital storefronts this week, offering a diverse mix of genres ranging from high-stakes action RPGs to laidback management sims. According to reporting from Rock Paper Shotgun, this week’s lineup includes everything from unique indie experiments to new entries in major franchises.

Action and Adventure Highlights

Leading the charge for action fans is Stupid Never Dies, a limb-swapping action RPG developed by a team led by former Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi. Players control a zombie character who gains strength by grafting pieces from defeated monsters. While the “Glorious Idiot” edition is available now, Rock Paper Shotgun notes that the standard base game is scheduled to launch on the 23rd.

For those looking for something more atmospheric, Athanasia has arrived in early access, blending elements of Dino Crisis and System Shock. Meanwhile, fans of metroidvanias may be interested in A Sister’s Journey, which combines run-and-gun gameplay with high-fidelity visuals. In the open-world space, Baron has also launched into early access, offering a mafia-themed experience set in Ankara.

Puzzle and Management Simulators

If you prefer a slower pace, the puzzle and sim categories are particularly robust this week. Cutout Village tasks players with a city-building experience focused on folding and gluing virtual paper houses. For a more unconventional puzzle experience, WOIM puts you in the shoes of an earthworm, navigating through dirt and utilizing self-amputation mechanics to fit into tight spaces. Additionally, One Piece: Grand Gourmet, developed by Kairosoft, offers a casual management sim set within the One Piece universe.

Why it matters

This week’s releases highlight a significant variety for PC gamers, with the debut of titles like Baron specifically grounding its open-world mafia gameplay in Ankara. For those tracking these releases, it is worth noting that some titles, like Stupid Never Dies, are releasing in staggered tiers, so checking specific launch dates can help avoid paying for premium editions if the base content satisfies your needs.

Beyond these, players can also look forward to Final Fantasy Resonance, which introduces the “HD-2D” aesthetic to the franchise, complete with a stagger system influenced by the Octopath Traveller series. As always, keeping an eye on early access schedules remains key, as many of these titles are still evolving.
