RuneScape’s Leagues II: EQUILIBRIUM continues to get refined this week with a substantial patch addressing quest progression, task completion bugs, and accessibility improvements. The update also reintroduces account renomination for returning players and brings a new Zaros-themed marketplace bundle to the game.
What’s Being Fixed and Improved
The Leagues team deployed dozens of hotfixes targeting blockers and quality-of-life issues. Notable fixes include invisible reward chests for the Amascut boss, missing egg piles in Anachronia, and the Fremmenik hunter area being mapped to the wrong region. Several hard underworld tasks—”Do You Like Jazz?” and “Down with the Disturbances”—now autocomplete on login, preventing players from getting stuck.
Task progression fixes address specific completions that were failing to award points: killing 50 Tormented demons, defeating Zamorak at 1,000% enrage, and catching red chinchompas in Kandarin all now properly credit players. Regional gating issues were also corrected, allowing Fremmenik region players to wear penguin suits for the agility course and letting Anachronia unlocks access the Dream of Iaia.
Drop modifier adjustments now apply to a wider pool of items, including Dark Nilas, Statius Warhammer, obsidian weapons, demon slayer equipment, and gemstone armor. The Dive skill requirement was lowered—it no longer needs 30 Agility if any tier 2 blessing has been unlocked. Players can now use regular watering cans on the toolbelt alongside magic ones, and crystal flasks are craftable with any region combination.
Region unlock requirements were adjusted, making progression feel less gated. The locality list now includes an “unlocked regions” button for easier navigation.
Account Renomination and New Marketplace Content
Players who participated in Leagues: CATALYST can now nominate a different account to receive their Leagues II: EQUILIBRIUM rewards. The newly nominated account will receive only this league’s rewards, not any points from the previous one. This feature will carry forward to future leagues, though players who skipped the first league cannot change their original nomination.
A new Zaros-themed marketplace bundle went live, drawing inspiration from the Zarosian Empire and Senntisten’s Colosseum. The bundle includes cosmetic options themed around masked warriors and shadow-cloaked mages, reflecting the empire’s aesthetic of fate and dominion.
Why This Matters
Leagues events in RuneScape are time-limited competitive seasons where players build fresh accounts under custom ruleset constraints. Bugs that prevent task completion or block progression can kill the experience for hardcore players trying to optimize their runs. This patch wave shows the team responding directly to friction points that emerged during early EQUILIBRIUM gameplay.
The renomination feature addresses a real friction point for returning players: if you played CATALYST but want a fresh start in EQUILIBRIUM on a different account, you’re no longer locked out of your rewards. That’s a meaningful quality-of-life win for the segment that does back-to-back leagues.
The drop modifier expansion and unlock adjustments signal an ongoing balancing pass—making certain grinds less tedious while expanding viable farming routes.
What’s Next
RuneScape’s hosting a community stream on August 28th featuring Vault of Hereditas gameplay, and “Shaping the End-Game” discussions are kicking off across Reddit and Discord for player feedback on long-term progression systems. Keep an eye on those channels as the studio gathers input on where high-level content should head.
