The long-running Havenhythe storyline in RuneScape is reaching its climax. On October 12th, Jagex will introduce a challenging new high-level boss encounter: the Ghrazi Blood Knights. Players will face both Lady and Lord Ghrazi simultaneously in a duo-focused battle designed to test combat coordination and reaction speeds under pressure.
The Race to World First
To celebrate the launch, RuneScape is hosting an official Race to World First, which will be streamed live on the game’s official Twitch channel. Commentated by The RS Guy and PupRS, the stream begins at 11:15 Game Time (12:15 pm UK Time). The boss encounter officially goes live shortly after at 12:00 Game Time (1:00 pm UK Time).
In a unique twist for this competition, the encounter will debut at 2,000% Enrage difficulty. All lower difficulty tiers will remain locked until the first duo successfully claims victory. The winning team will receive a one-of-a-kind, exclusive World First title and signed concept art from the development team.
Rewards and Future Content
For those looking for long-term progression, the encounter offers significant incentives. Successfully taking down the Blood Knights provides a chance to earn Tier 95 Legendary Crossbows and a new Necromancy incantation, Invoke Arisen Flesh. Collectors can also hunt for a Lady Ghrazi boss pet and fill out a new collection log for a unique title.
While the launch is strictly a duo affair, developers have confirmed that a solo-specific version of the encounter will be added to the game next month. Additionally, while the 2,000% Enrage setting is the starting point for the World First race, Normal mode (0%) and the 100%, 500% and 1,000% Enrage difficulties will be unlocked for the general player base once the race concludes. A further challenge at 4,000% Enrage is planned for a later date.
Why it matters
This update marks the definitive end of the Havenhythe narrative, providing a high-stakes PvM (Player vs Monster) experience for the game’s top-tier combatants. It also introduces Tier 95 Legendary Crossbows for high-level players.
Because the encounter requires a partner for the initial launch, players should start scouting for teammates now. Those unable to participate in the race can still look forward to the subsequent release of the solo mode next month, ensuring that the content remains accessible to those who prefer tackling challenges on their own terms.
