Street Fighter 6 adds Arjun on October 13, 2026: a slower power fighter whose Yoga Breathing strikes deal recoverable damage even through blocks.

Street Fighter 6 adds Arjun, its second Indian fighter after Dhalsim, on October 13, 2026. He is the second character of the game’s Year 4 roster, and he is built around Yoga Breathing techniques and a mechanic that lets his attacks deal damage even when they are blocked.
The new damage mechanic
Arjun trades speed for power. His key strikes inflict recoverable damage on the opponent even when blocked. That damage sits on the opponent’s health bar and can be converted into real, permanent damage through specific combos and follow-ups.
In practice, blocking Arjun is not a safe answer on its own. Opponents who sit behind their guard slowly build up recoverable damage that Arjun can cash in later, so they need to find openings to interrupt him rather than wait him out. For the Arjun player, the challenge is turning that stored damage into real damage before the opponent recovers it.
Moveset
Capcom’s reveal detailed several signature moves:
Arm of Justice, a winding punch with several variations. Cruel Shoulder, a lunging shoulder tackle. Breathing Ring, an airborne projectile that can be angled. Divine Pillar, a ground-based trap that also acts as a platform, which leads into Justice Beyond, a grab-and-swing combination. Indomitable Defense, a counter stance that answers melee strikes, with Moral Breakdown as a follow-up.
His Super Arts are Howling Destruction at Level 1, Instant Oblivion at Level 2 and Yaksha’s Order at Level 3.
How he differs from Dhalsim
Dhalsim, the series’ first Indian fighter, is a long-range zoner who controls space with stretching limbs, fireballs and teleports. Arjun is almost the opposite: a slower, heavy-hitting character whose threat comes from making every blocked hit count. Veteran Dhalsim players will not find their habits transfer.
Year 4 and availability
Arjun is included in the Year 4 Character Pass and the Year 4 Ultimate Pass, and can also be bought individually through the in-game store. Yasmine arrived first as part of Year 4, and the pass also includes Tifa from Final Fantasy VII and Bosch. Pricing depends on region and platform. Street Fighter 6 is on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam.
Why it matters
For competitive players, Arjun changes a basic assumption of Street Fighter: that blocking is the safe choice. Players across the region’s growing fighting game scene, and at major events such as the Esports World Cup, will need to learn new defensive habits against him.
For casual players, he offers a distinct power-focused style that feels different from anyone else in the roster. Expect a period of adjustment after October 13 while the community works out his best combos and Capcom watches whether the recoverable damage mechanic needs tuning.
