How to Farm Torment Grass in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave

Torment Grass is a unique resource in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. While it isn’t a core requirement for primary objectives, it functions as a useful trade item. Players can swap it with merchants to obtain various goods, including Giants’ Meat, which is a key item needed if you are looking to recruit the character Goliath.

Prerequisites for Farming

To acquire Torment Grass effectively, you must be playing as a protagonist other than Cai. Due to narrative restrictions, Cai cannot access the desert region on the overworld map where this item primarily grows, making it exceptionally difficult to obtain if he is your chosen lead.

Locations and Farming Steps

If you have access to the desert regions, follow these steps to secure Torment Grass:

1. Visit the Baina Oasis Market: This is the most consistent method. Navigate to the market located in the center of the desert to purchase the grass directly from local merchants.
2. Scavenge the Southern Dunes: For players looking to save their gold, the grass can be gathered for free at specific search points. Focus your efforts on the Scorched-Grass Dunes located to the south of the desert in the Lambath region.
3. Explore the Nysiades’ Desert: Alternatively, check the search points within the Corpses’ Gutter area of the Nysiades’ desert.

Why it matters

Understanding where to find Torment Grass matters because it serves as a flexible currency for trading. While there are other ways to progress, knowing the specific locations for these items helps streamline your resource management, particularly if you are aiming to recruit Goliath via his preferred trade requirements. Players should note that because the location is tied to specific desert zones, you should prioritize gathering these materials whenever your journey takes you to the southern regions or the Baina Oasis to avoid unnecessary backtracking.

As with all side materials in the game, these locations remain fixed. If you are struggling with other resource gathering, ensure you check your current story progression, as some areas may be temporarily locked depending on your chapter.
