Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Reveals Massive Year Two Roadmap Featuring Hello Kitty and Final Fantasy VII
SEGA has officially pulled the curtain back on its ambitious plans for Year Two of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

SEGA has officially pulled the curtain back on its ambitious plans for Year Two of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. During the World Championship 2026 Finals livestream, the developer announced a jam-packed schedule of downloadable content that expands the game’s crossover roster significantly, spanning from iconic anime collaborations to legendary gaming franchises.
The Year Two Content Lineup
Year Two kicks off on November 3, 2026, with the “Year Two” Season Pass priced at $29.99. The rollout begins with previously announced collaborations: Godzilla (Pack #1) and Evangelion (Pack #2), both running from November 2026 through March 2027. Following these, SEGA will introduce “Virtual Sanrio Puroland” featuring Hello Kitty and Kuromi, alongside a “SEGALAND” pack celebrating the company’s arcade history. The year concludes with a major crossover for Final Fantasy VII Remake and a “Persona Reload Revival Royal” pack, both slated for late 2027.
Alongside the paid DLC, SEGA is releasing a wave of free updates available on Day One. These include the addition of Bayonetta and a “Butterfly Witch Machine,” a new “Dual Mode” game type, and a significant Gadget System upgrade that introduces over 15 new tactical items. Players who own both the Year One and Year Two Season Passes will also gain access to a “Super Shadow” character.
Pricing Updates and Accessibility
To celebrate the announcement, SEGA has implemented a permanent price reduction for the base game on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The standard edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is now priced at $39.99. For those looking to catch up, the physical “Year One Edition” is available for $59.99, which conveniently bundles the game with the Year One Season Pass.
Why it matters
For players, the Year Two roadmap represents a massive shift in scale for CrossWorlds. By incorporating heavy hitters like Final Fantasy VII and Sanrio alongside dedicated SEGA legacy content, the developers are clearly aiming to keep the arcade racer relevant well into late 2027. If you have been waiting on the fence, the permanent price drop makes this an ideal time to jump in before the new content cycle begins in November.
While there is no specific regional information provided regarding GCC or Middle Eastern server support, the broad nature of these global franchises suggests the content will be widely accessible. Players should keep an eye on their respective digital storefronts on November 3rd to ensure their local region has updated pricing reflected for the base game.
