Epic Games is rolling out significant updates to its Fortnite Crew subscription service starting December 5, shifting the focus from monthly cosmetic packs to a tiered V-Bucks reward system. As reported by VGC, this restructuring marks the end of the traditional monthly Crew Pack, which has historically provided exclusive skins to subscribers.

The end of monthly Crew Packs

According to the announcement, the December Crew Pack will be the final release of its kind. Players who currently own Crew Pack outfits and have yet to unlock all associated Legacy Styles will receive them automatically. Additionally, the OG Pass is scheduled to conclude on December 5, coinciding with the end of Chapter 1: OG Season X. Epic Games noted that while this specific OG experience is wrapping up, the next iteration of Fortnite OG is not expected until late 2027.

New V-Bucks reward structure

To compensate for the removal of monthly skins and the OG Pass, Epic is increasing the base V-Bucks payout for all members. The amount granted will scale based on the length of a player’s continuous subscription, rewarding long-term supporters.

Existing subscribers will have their tenure honored when the changes take effect. The new distribution tiers are as follows:

  • 1-2 months: 1,000 V-Bucks per month
  • 3-5 months: 1,200 V-Bucks per month
  • 6-11 months: 1,400 V-Bucks per month
  • 12+ months: 1,600 V-Bucks per month

Despite these changes, the core benefits of the $11.99/£9.99 monthly service—or its availability via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate—remain largely intact. Members will continue to receive a 20% XP boost, along with access to the Battle Pass, Music Pass, Lego Pass, and Rocket Pass Premium.

Why it matters

For players, this shift represents a move toward more flexible in-game spending power rather than static, guaranteed cosmetics. If you rely on the Crew subscription to stay stocked with the latest skins, the removal of monthly packs changes the value proposition significantly. However, long-term subscribers stand to benefit from a substantial increase in currency, potentially allowing for more freedom in the Item Shop.

Since Epic is counting past subscription time toward your new V-Bucks tier, long-tenured members will immediately see the increase to 1,600 V-Bucks per month starting December 5. If you are currently a member, keep an eye on your account status to ensure your subscription continuity is reflected in the new payout system.
