The first wave of Xbox Game Pass additions for October 2026 has officially arrived, headlined by last year’s best-selling game, Battlefield 6. Exactly one year after its initial release, the shooter is joining the subscription service on October 13 across Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, arriving just in time for the launch of its Las Vegas-themed season 5.

While Battlefield 6 stands out as the marquee addition for the month, it is joined by a diverse lineup of indie titles ranging from narrative-driven adventures to action-heavy roguelikes. Microsoft has scheduled these releases in a staggered rollout beginning October 8 and concluding on October 16.

The October Indie Wave

Beyond the heavy-hitter status of Battlefield 6, the first half of October offers several notable indie releases:

* October 8: Echo Weaver (a time-loop metroidvania), Forever Ago (a narrative adventure), and Neon Abyss 2 (a four-player co-op cyberpunk roguelike).
* October 13: Deep Dish Dungeon and Valor Mortis, a Napoleonic Wars Soulslike developed by the team behind Ghostrunner.
* October 15: Bluey’s Happy Snaps and the co-op gladiator roguelike Chained Beasts.
* October 16: Beyond These Stars (PC).

Why it matters

For subscribers, the inclusion of a major AAA title like Battlefield 6 provides an accessible entry point to a game that dominated sales charts throughout 2025. This move is particularly notable given the ongoing industry rivalry between the Battlefield and Call of Duty franchises. While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is also launching this month, it will not be available on Game Pass at launch, marking a distinct difference in strategy for the service.

These additions offer a mix of high-fidelity multiplayer action and niche indie experiences, catering to different play styles as the service continues to flesh out its catalog for the remainder of 2026. Players should monitor their respective regional platforms for the exact deployment times associated with these titles as they roll out throughout mid-October.
