The turn-based RPG Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is expanding its reach beyond consoles. Currently available on Xbox Series X|S, the title is officially scheduled to launch on Windows 11 PCs on November 18, 2026. The release will feature Xbox Play Anywhere support, allowing for a seamless experience between console and PC platforms.
Seamless Cross-Platform Play
With the integration of Xbox Play Anywhere, players who own the game can transition between Xbox Series X|S and compatible Windows 11 PCs without purchasing separate copies. The service ensures that save data, achievements, and additional game content carry over automatically. This allows players to pick up their progress on their preferred device, including compatible handheld gaming hardware, at no extra cost.
Expanding the Monster Hunter Stories Universe
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection follows the journey of the prince or princess of Azuria and Eleanor, the princess of Vermeil. As the only Rathalos Rider in their respective lands, players embark on an adventure to uncover the secrets of a world on the brink of destruction. The game introduces mechanics such as Habitat Restoration, which lets players release monsters into the wild to influence Ecosystem ranks, alongside a post-game challenge that unlocks ‘Royal’ versions of monsters for high-difficulty combat.
10th Anniversary Celebrations
This PC announcement coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Monster Hunter Stories series. To celebrate the milestone, Xbox has announced that the two previous titles, Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, will be available as part of a Free Play Days event. From October 22 to October 25, 2026, all Xbox players can access a three-hour timed trial for both games without requiring a Game Pass membership.
Why it matters
For fans of the series, this release bridges the gap between console and PC gaming, offering greater flexibility in how they experience the title. The inclusion of Xbox Play Anywhere is particularly valuable for players who utilize handheld PCs or prefer switching between their desktop and TV setups. Additionally, the upcoming Free Play Days event provides an accessible entry point for new players to sample the franchise’s history before or after diving into the latest installment. Players should ensure their save data is synced to the cloud to take full advantage of the cross-platform features when the PC version launches in November.
