Sony’s Marvel’s Wolverine-themed PS5 controller is still available for preorder at most major retailers, though some colorways have already sold out ahead of the September 15 launch. The Battle Yellow DualSense has proven to be the standout among fans, but you’ll want to lock in your order soon if you’re interested.

What You’re Actually Getting

Functionally, it’s a standard PS5 DualSense controller—the appeal is purely in the design. The Battle Yellow version features three jagged claw marks ripping across the face in vibrant yellow against black grips and a black touchpad, meant to evoke Wolverine’s signature claws. The bottom of the controller is also yellow, along with the button shapes and tiny D-pad arrows. Gray scuff marks on the left and right grips complete the battle-damage aesthetic.

The controller comes in two colorways. The Battle Yellow is bold and bright, priced at $89.99. There’s also an “Adamantium” white variant with the same claw-and-scuff design but using metallic white accents instead of yellow for a less flashy look. That white version was a PlayStation Direct exclusive and has already sold out.

Matching console covers are available separately for both designs, though some have disappeared from inventory. The Battle Yellow PS5 Slim console cover is still in stock at PS Direct, but the Adamantium white one has sold out. The controller itself remains available at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, PS Direct, Smyths Toys UK, and Target—though Target’s stock has already dried up.

While PlayStation Direct may receive additional stock before launch, the pace of sales suggests that won’t be guaranteed.

Why This Matters

Marvel’s Wolverine is Insomniac Studios’ follow-up to the massively successful Spider-Man games on PS5. As the studio’s next major exclusive, the game is generating significant hardware tie-in interest. Limited-edition controller designs have become a major draw for console fans, especially when they’re tied to highly anticipated releases. The fact that the Adamantium white variant sold out at PS Direct demonstrates real demand for these collectible items.

For players planning to grab the game at launch, the controller represents a way to match your hardware to the experience. That said, these limited runs are designed to feel exclusive—once they’re gone, they’re typically gone for good, which adds urgency to the purchase decision.

What’s Next

If you’re considering grabbing one of these controllers, the window to do so at this point is clearly narrowing. Monitor your preferred retailer closely over the next few weeks, and don’t assume additional stock will materialize before the September 15 release date.
