Fortnite players can now explore a virtual Best Buy store complete with quests and exclusive unlockable items. The retailer has been added to Drive City, an open-world Creative map in Fortnite, marking another major brand collaboration for the game.
What You’ll Find in the Virtual Store
The Best Buy location functions as an interactive experience rather than a simple recreation of a real-world shop. The main quest tasks players with hunting down Best Buy Tags scattered throughout Drive City and returning them to an employee inside the virtual store. Collecting 10 tags unlocks a Best Buy-themed Back Bling alongside XP and in-game currency. Players who find and return 20 tags receive the Best Buy Grappler, which will be available every time you return to the map.
Beyond the main quest, several smaller activities are available inside the store itself. A TV plays minigames, a photo booth helps locate nearby collectibles, and there’s a Geek Squad section to explore. An interactive boom box lets you change the music playing throughout the location.
How to Access the Collaboration
Drive City, which contains the Best Buy store, can be accessed by entering island code 6246-3089-1172 in Fortnite. Two other experiences are also available as part of the Best Buy collaboration, both exclusive to the store: Meet Up (island code 3527-4959-6539), which includes proximity chat, and Toy Box (island code 9061-5458-7889).
The Best Buy collaboration launched alongside the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, though the store isn’t part of the standard Battle Royale map. Drive City itself is full of nods to video game characters, including Sonic Sprites and a Point of Interest that appears to be teasing a Five Nights at Freddy’s collaboration.
Why This Matters
Fortnite has built a reputation for collaborations with major franchises and companies, but a Best Buy partnership represents an interesting shift toward retail brand integration. Rather than focusing solely on entertainment properties, Epic Games is now bringing real-world retailers into the game’s Creative ecosystem. This approach keeps the main Battle Royale experience separate while offering exploration and collection activities in a dedicated space, allowing players interested in the collab to engage without it affecting competitive gameplay.
The quest structure and exclusive cosmetics encourage players to spend time in Drive City beyond just visiting once, creating a repeatable gameplay loop around the virtual store. The inclusion of smaller activities like minigames and photo booths keeps the experience varied and interactive rather than purely transactional.
Expect to see whether this Best Buy integration leads to similar retail or brand partnerships in Fortnite’s Creative spaces. Players should also watch for confirmation of any Five Nights at Freddy’s content, given the apparent hints already present in Drive City.
