Asobo Studio has released a new update for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy today, October 6, targeting a variety of technical and gameplay issues. Available now on console platforms as update 1.003 (or 01.003.000), this patch introduces a broad range of quality-of-life improvements aimed at smoothing out the experience for players across different hardware.

Stability and Performance Improvements

Technical refinements are a primary focus of this update. For PC players, the patch addresses an issue where AMD Anti-Lag would fail to function when Frame Generation was disabled, and it introduces official support for 21:9 aspect ratios. On the console front, PS5 users should see a fix for an issue where PSSR settings were not being saved after a game restart. Additionally, Xbox Series X players should experience fewer audio stuttering issues. To help with the game’s overall flow, the developers have also implemented a reduction in stutter lag specifically when players approach the new Nemesis Area.

Gameplay and Control Fixes

Beyond performance, the update tackles several bugs that hindered player progression and control customization. Several specific instances where inputs could not be modified—such as Book navigation, Focus Attack, and Prism unlock inputs—have been resolved. Players who previously dealt with disappearing items, such as the Falchion vanishing after DLC installation, should find those issues corrected.

Combat and interaction bugs have also been cleaned up. The update fixes scenarios where enemies would stop reacting to player presence after a restart, or where enemies would erroneously survive after being pushed off an edge. Navigation and scripted interactions, such as Leni’s lens in Chapter III or crouching in the Chapter IX palace area, have also received attention to ensure they trigger reliably.

Why it matters

For players, this update is essential for smoothing out the friction points that have been reported since launch. By fixing persistent input mapping issues and stability concerns like audio stutters on Xbox and PSSR settings on PS5, Asobo Studio is directly addressing the technical hurdles that can break immersion in a narrative-driven title.

If you have been struggling with progression blocks in specific chapters, such as the corrupted save issues in Chapter XIII or cutscene animation bugs, this patch should provide a much more stable experience. Players should ensure their game client is updated to the latest version to verify these fixes, as the patch also includes localized subtitle corrections and general NPC behavior improvements that make the world feel more polished overall.
