Rockstar Games has officially pulled back the curtain on the talent behind the radio dials for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. In a major update regarding the game’s soundscape, the studio confirmed that several high-profile musicians and cultural icons will serve as hosts for the game’s expansive radio station lineup, bringing a new level of authenticity to the streets of Leonida.

The Stars Behind the Mic

The roster of hosts is extensive and spans multiple genres. Bad Bunny and RaiNao are set to helm Cocoteo FM, a station dedicated to Latin music, with RaiNao noting that the station captures the pride and traditions of their culture. Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey and Morgan Wallen will take on the role of hosts for Back Country Radio, an outlaw country station. Interestingly, Del Rey’s husband, Jeremy Dufrene, will also make an appearance in the game as ‘Mud Dog Mike,’ a roving reporter for the same station.

Other notable inclusions include:
– Flash FM, a classic Vice City station, hosted by pop star Robyn and model Alex Consani.
– The Chamber 106.6, a heavy metal station featuring Slayer’s Kerry King and Tom Araya.
– Dirty South Classics, hosted by Trick Daddy and Trina.
– AfroBank FM, which will be co-hosted by Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna Boy and DJ Palms Trax.

Rockstar has a history of tapping famous talent for its in-game audio—such as Kenny Loggins in GTA V and Iggy Pop in GTA IV—but the scale of this lineup suggests a deeper level of artist involvement in curating the vibes for each station.

Listening on the Go

Beyond just the car radio, Rockstar has confirmed that players will have more flexibility in how they consume media in-game. Players will now be able to listen to music and podcasts while on foot, thanks to a new feature allowing audio playback directly through the in-game phone. This should make exploring the map feel more personal, allowing users to keep their favorite stations playing even when they step out of their vehicles.

Why it matters

For players, this announcement signals that Rockstar is doubling down on the immersive, culture-focused atmosphere that has defined the series. The inclusion of diverse, globally recognized artists suggests a broad musical soundscape that aims to reflect the vibrant setting of the game.

By enabling mobile listening, Rockstar is addressing a common player request to keep the “vibe” going while navigating the open world on foot, rather than being tethered to vehicles. With the game’s release drawing closer, these details help build a clearer picture of the world-building Rockstar is pouring into the project, ensuring that the sound design remains as iconic as the gameplay itself.
